And the winner is …

The UWSU election results have been revealed!

Over 3000 votes were cast during the week across all the campuses, with Regent Street managing to take the most votes.

Your new officers are as follows:

President – Robin Law

VP Activities – Natasha McGechan

VP Communications – Chris Jones

VP Education – Jade Baker

Student Trustees – Fatima Hagi & Craig Smith

Big congratulations to all those who have been elected. Smoke are particularly excited at the prospect of getting even more recognition as outlined in Chris Jones’ manifesto.

Vote vote vote!

Voting has opened in the most important elections of the year.

No we aren’t talking about the battle between Cameron, Brown and Clegg – we are talking about the UWSU student elections.

Voting opened on Monday and is open until 7pm this Thursday. You can cast your vote on any campus at the following locations:

  • Harrow – near the refectory
  • Little Titchfield – in the foyer
  • Cavendish – in the foyer
  • Regents Street – in the foyer
  • Marylebone – near the bookshop

You will need your Westminster ID card in order to vote. If you want more information on the candidates and to see what they want to change, head over to the UWSU website for interviews with some of the candidates.

UWSU Elections

Forget the General Elections – all eyes should be on the UWSU student elections.

The are six positions available to students. These include:

  • President
  • Vice President Activities
  • Vice President Educations
  • Vice President Communications
  • Two student trustee positions

Campaigning starts this week across all the campuses so keep your eyes open for all the candidates. Keep checking back to Smoke Radio for all the latest information and perhaps some interviews with the students running for position.

Voting starts next week so get thinking who you want to represent you next year.

After stuffing ourselves silly with Easter eggs, the Smoke Radio team are back doing what they do best – making awesome radio!
