Louis Walsh has signed a deal with X Factor rejects John and Edward.
Walsh mentored the twins throughout ITV1’s The X Factor and faced much criticism. Many believed that John and Edward did not have the vocal ability of many of the other contestants. They faced multiple backlashes when more competent acts were voted off instead of them. They eventually got booted off the singing show two weeks ago.
Walsh is said to be “delighted” at the idea of working with them again and is looking into recording contracts and television roles.
Could this years Christmas number one go to Jedward? Do you think they will be the next Ant and Dec? And will their career become as popular as they were on The X Factor?

Yes you read the headline correctly.
Fans of XFactor’s Jon and Edward have launched an online petition to get the duo to play at Glastonbury in 2010!
It has been confirmed that U2 will headline the festival and rumours are rife that band of the moment Muse will also play a headline slot. Other acts that are being batted around to play the festival include the Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Kings Of Leon.
Let Smoke Radio know if you are off to Glasto next year and who you would like to see headline.
End of the road for Jedward
Nov 23rd
After 7 weeks, the Jedward machine has come to a grinding halt and Saturday nights will never be the same.
The twins lost out to Essex boy Olly Murs in the Xfactor sing off yesterday evening. Their performance of Boyzone’s No Matter What was not enough to save them from being the latest casualties of the show. The boys opted to try and sing their way to safety as opposed to their usual crazy dancing routines but Olly’s strong vocal performance of ‘Wonderful Tonight’ was always going to come out on top.
However it is unlikely this is the last we will see of the Irish twins. It has been reported that they have been inundated with television presenting and panto offers. Keep your eyes peeled at your local theatre!

Jedward might not be popular but The X Factor is.

The Sunday results show of The X Factor achieved the series highest ratings with over half of the available TV audience tuning in for Lucie’s premature exit.
The show peaked with over 16 million viewers and a massive 54 per cent share, easily making it the most watched show of the week and possibly the year, let alone the night. This week saw Welsh singer Lucie Jones voted off during deadlock with the twins John and Edward. The result has caused outrage all over the Internet with Facebook and Twitter statuses branding Simon Cowell a coward for leaving it up to the public vote.
Jedward have been receiving bad press since they were put through.
However it can be argued that although many are threatening to boycott The X Factor, John and Edward’s presence is pulling in the huge viewing figures. Many see them as entertaining including one of Smoke Radio’s heads of news. Saturday’s show pulled in 11.8 million viewers.
The BBC had chosen to re-schedule Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend in order to avoid an X Factor clash. The change in timing meant that the two shows only overlapped by 15 minutes. However Strictly only managed to grab 8.7 million, making its ITV rival a clear winner.
Smoke Radio would like to know which of the two talent shows you watch. Are you a Strictly fan, or do you enjoy sitting down and watching The X Factor?
