Christmas at The ‘Croft

Christmas really did begin last night at The Undercroft in Harrow.
Hundreds of students descended on the SU bar to celebrate the final week of University with a big party. Santa hats were a must have accessory with the majority of students wearing them and the odd glowstick was also seen around peoples wrists.
The chocolate fountain and candy floss was also proving popular with bananas, grapes, strawberries and other fruits available for students to dip in the chocolate.
The music was playing all night and the dancefloor was full. Whether it was RnB, Indie, classics from the 70s and 80s or Christmas hits the students of Harrow were making sure the party did not stop until closing time.
The cheap drinks also meant that many were “merry” during the night.
McElderry losing the Christmas number one race

Winner of this year’s X Factor, Joe McElderry is currently behind rock band Rage Against The Machine in the race for the Christmas number one.
Eighteen year old McElderry is 10 per cent behind the rock band after Sunday and Monday’s sales it was revealed today. His single, ‘The Climb’ is put on sale on Wednesday and is expected to catch up with the sales of Rage Against The Machine’s h 1992 hit ‘Killing In The Name.’
A Facebook group that was created to get Rage to number one this Christmas has over 750,000 members, a total that is constantly rising.
The race is going to be an extremely close one but bookies predict that The X Factor champion will clinch the top spot on Sunday.
Over 19.1 million viewers tuned in to see McElderry’s victory on Sunday night making it the second most watched show of the year.

Rage Against The Machine for Christmas number one?

Thousands of Music fans have joined an online campaign to stop this year’s XFactor finalist claiming the Christmas number one.
Campaigns have been set up on Facebook and Twitter to get Rage Against The Machine to the top spot this year with their anti-authority themed tune, ‘Killing in the name.’
The past four years have seen the Christmas number one spot taken by a reality TV star that Simon Cowell has created and RATM fan, Jon Morter believes it is time to put an end to Cowell’s legacy.
Previous campaigns to stop the XFactor winning being number one have failed – last year there was an attempt to get the original version of ‘Hallelujah’ by Jeff Buckley to the top spot instead of Alexandra Burke’s cover version.
