Tiger Woods in car crash
Nov 27th
It has been reported that Tiger Woods has been injured in a car crash in Florida.
Woods was driving his car in the early hours of the morning when he drove into a fire hydrant and crashed into a neighbour’s tree.
Early reports suggested that the golf star had sustained serious injuries but Woods’ agent has confirmed that the world number one is ‘fine’ despite being taken to a local hospital.
It has been confirmed that alcohol did not play a role in the crash and the airbags were not deployed which signifies the car was going at any speed.

Edd’s Nice News – Thursday 26 November
Nov 26th
First up, last week I reported on conjoined twins Krishna and Trishna who were successfully separated in Melbourne Australia. I am happy to say that both the girls are now awake, smiling and laughing after leaving intensive care at The Royal Children’s Hospital. The twins who were joined at the head and pulled through 25 hours of intense surgery last week with the help of the brilliant doctors and nurses at the hospital. Moira Kelly the girl’s guardian ‘did a yelp of joy’ when Krishna, who recovered after her sister, blew a raspberry to an overjoyed Ms. Kelly after awaking from her medically induced coma.

37 year-old rap superstar Eminem has seriously stated he would like to be a judge on the X-Factor. Reports suggest he said he would like to spice up the judging panel and his experience would help ‘prepare contestants for what it is really like out there, and what sort of pressure you are going to be under.’ The X-Factor has reached new highs this series with record audiences and they are currently top of the charts with charity single, ‘You Are Not Alone’, which is in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital. This year, the winner’s single has also been rumored to be the Journey classic ‘Don’t Stop Believing’.

Fire in South London
Nov 26th
A fire has caused havoc in Peckham in South East London.
The fire broke out at a construction site this morning and quickly spread to the neighbouring houses and a local pub, though the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
310 people have been forced to leave their homes for safety reasons. Although nobody was killed, ten people are being treated in hospital for minor injuries. Two of the casualties were policemen who were at the scene. They are being treated for the effects on smoke inhalation.
Local people are currently being housed at a local rest centre where people have been donating clothing, food and toys. The local council are hoping that many of the residents will be able to return to their homes by Thursday evening.
Do you live in the South London area? Have you been affected by the fire? Get in touch with Smoke Radio and let us know your story.

Gavin and Stacey returns for its final series tonight. Source: BBC
If you are not going down to Inter:mission for the toga party tonight then Smoke Radio would recommend you tune into BBC One at 9pm.
The reason for this is the return of the BAFTA award winning sitcom, Gavin and Stacey.
The third and final series that kicks off tonight follows on from last years Christmas special. Gavin and Stacey have moved to Wales, where Gavin has started his new job and Nessa, Dave [Coaches] and Baby Neil are all living together in perfect harmony…or so it seems. Those of you that saw the Christmas special last year will remember Smithy asking Nessa not to marry Dave.
The final series is made up of six episodes each lasting 30 minutes. Smoke however do not think this is enough. It is not very often a new comedy comes along and becomes as popular as this show. It was born on BBC Three, moved to BBC Two and is now being shown on the coroporations main channel. You cannot ask for much more than that really and writers and co-stars, Ruth Jones and James Corden are still amazed that the sitcom is fast becoming a British institution.
I am sure there are people out there that have never watched the show but it is never too late. If you like British humour that you can relate to [they mentioned Morrisons, Lidl and Facebook in previous series'] then switch your television on just before 9:00 tonight and tune in for what Smoke classes as ‘one of the best programmes on the TV.’
So dig out the popcorn and the crisps, make a hot chocolate and sit down and enjoy side-splitting performances from Rob Brydon, Alison Steadman, Larry Lamb, Mat Horne, Joanna Page and of course Ruth Jones and James Corden. There is also an appearance in this series by Pam Ferris who plays Smithy’s mum.
Gavin and Stacey Episode One Series Three begins tonight at 9:00 on BBC One.

The HS Sickness: symptoms, causes and cures.
Nov 25th
Source: newsandreviews.in
Written by Sata Cissokho
We are now approaching the end of the year. Christmas is in the air and for the American students, Thanksgiving is celebrated this weekend.
This time of the year, most of the foreign students seem to be afflicted by the same sickness:
- extreme exhaustion
- difficulty getting out of bed in the morning, or as a matter of fact at anytime.
- feeling blue, cold and depressed
- moody, irritable and the worst attitude
- uncontrollable craving for greasy, over sugary food (binge chocolate-eating)
These are the effects of homesickness and the causes are pretty easy to identify: The whole city has changed into a scene from A Christmas Carol (minus the snow) and it’s hard to feel the Christmas spirit when you’re far from home.
Besides, the weather is not really helping. It’s getting colder and how can you possibly be in a great mood when your day ends at 4pm?!
Hopefully, there’s a way to deal with homesickness.
- The first step toward curing is acceptance. You can’t fight the enemy if you don’t know who he is. So put your ego aside and accept the fact that the changing environment is a tough thing and being far away from your family, friends and home affects you. Once you’ve accepted that, it’s much easier to deal with homesickness.
- I know that having your mum on the phone complaining about your lazy siblings is the most comforting thing when you’re far from home, but beware of the pitfall. You might have the feeling that you’re back at home but it will only make you feel more depressed not to be there with them once you hang up. So don’t call too often.
- Another good way to avoid homesickness is keeping busy. Staying in bed with tons of cookies will definitely not help. The busier you are, the less lonely you feel.
- Finally, find ways to feel at home here. Spend time with your friends, adopt little habits. Decorate your room. At the end, you will create a familiar environment that will be comforting.
Now you’re ready to face the remaining weeks of the semester, the upcoming assignments, winter, 8-hours-long days and the Christmas Spirit.
Sort of… Hopefully… Ok, cookies help.
