Edd’s Nice News – Thursday 26 November

First up, last week I reported on conjoined twins Krishna and Trishna who were successfully separated in Melbourne Australia. I am happy to say that both the girls are now awake, smiling and laughing after leaving intensive care at The Royal Children’s Hospital. The twins who were joined at the head and pulled through 25 hours of intense surgery last week with the help of the brilliant doctors and nurses at the hospital. Moira Kelly the girl’s guardian ‘did a yelp of joy’ when Krishna, who recovered after her sister, blew a raspberry to an overjoyed Ms. Kelly after awaking from her medically induced coma.

37 year-old rap superstar Eminem has seriously stated he would like to be a judge on the X-Factor. Reports suggest he said he would like to spice up the judging panel and his experience would help ‘prepare contestants for what it is really like out there, and what sort of pressure you are going to be under.’ The X-Factor has reached new highs this series with record audiences and they are currently top of the charts with charity single, ‘You Are Not Alone’, which is in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital. This year, the winner’s single has also been rumored to be the Journey classic ‘Don’t Stop Believing’.

“We are the Moomins”

First up Moomins news. Icelandic singer Bjork has written a song for next summer’s Moomins film, ‘Moomins and The Comet Chase’. Bjork’s ‘The Comet Song’ will feature in the film along with Moomin favourites, Moominmamma, Snork Maiden, and Little My. The film will be in 3D as well as being a stop-motion production. Check out the pictures on the official Moomin facebook page. However if you can’t wait for the film you could always visit Moomin World in Finland. Depending on the film’s release date, Moomin World theme park is open from June 9th- August 12th. Hopefully that is subject to change, but I’d just do both the film and the theme park to be honest.

Melbourne doctors separate conjoined twins

Next, a team of 16 doctors and nurses in Melbourne, Australia, have successfully separated conjoined Bangladeshi twin girls. The girls who were orphans from The Mother Teresa orphanage in Dhaka successfully pulled threw 25 long hours of surgery.  Their now guardian United Nations worker Moira Kelly was ‘overwhelmed’ by the twins successful separation but her spokesperson said there was still ‘a long road ahead’ for the girls. Trishna has now woken up from a medically induced coma though and appears to be behaving just like normal. Our thoughts go out to the twins, Trishna and Krishna, and we hope all continues to go well.
